Elizabeth Murphy’s “The Weather Diviner” nominated for 2026 Dublin Literary Award

I’m so pleased to share the news that Elizabeth Murphy’s novel The Weather Diviner is one of four Canadian titles on the list for the 2026 Dublin Literary Award. The award receives nominations from public libraries around the world and is the most valuable prize in the world for a single work of fiction, worth €100,000 to the winner.

I had the pleasure of working with Elizabeth before her novel was acquired for publication by Breakwater Books and then in the developmental stage. She captures a pivotal moment in Newfoundland history, with the influx of American soldiers to St. John’s during the Second World War. Her heroine Violet, the weather savant of the title, is a lovable oddball and was a very fun character to keep company with during the duration of the edit.

Huge congratulations, Elizabeth!
